GOMACO GP4 slipform paver at home on runway and interstate jobs

The new GOMACO GP4 slipform paver.

The first all new GP4 slipform paver was introduced last year at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017. The paver shipped directly from the GOMACO booth to its new home in Arizona where it has been working ever since slipforming interstate and airport projects. The GP4's most recent project has been slipforming a new runway at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona. Its paving passes are 37.5 feet (11.4 m) wide and 19 inches (483 mm) thick.

GOMACO University releases 2018 schedule

GOMACO University has released their 2018 schedule and is now accepting registrations for the new season of specialized courses covering GOMACO's full line of concrete paving equipment. Each week, from January through April, features courses taught by GOMACO instructors with a combined experience of over 100 years with GOMACO equipment. The instructors are also helped out in the hands-on shop sessions by GOMACO service representatives who travel the world during the paving season and are ready to share their knowledge with the students. Curbside Construction looks back on slipforming thousands of kilometres of curb and gutter and sidewalks

At 70 years of age and a lifetime spent in the construction industry, Greg Di Pietro has seen a lot of changes and worked with a lot of GOMACO equipment and control systems, slipforming thousands of kilometres of curb and gutter and sidewalk. The first was a GT-6000, purchased in 1972 by a company called Weldon McEachen. It featured the Analog system, a proportional control system consisting of a sensor, amplifier and servo valve.
